신비의 나라,
4대 고대 문명의 發祥地의 하나,인도로 가는 여행은
기대 이상으로 좋았던 것 같습니다.

언제나 그리하였듯이
혜초만의 미끄러운 동선과 짜임새 있는 프로그램,수준 높은 먹거리와 볼거리와 잠자리,
탁월한 스탭.특히 얼마 전 갔다 왔던 <북극열차 타고 러시아 무르만스크에 오로라보러 가자>상품처럼 한겨레보다 더 우리 말을 잘 했던 러시아 현지 가이드처럼
유창한 한국 말로 우리들을 놀라게 했던 인디안 가이드 싱의 눈부신 활약은 여행을
더욱 풍요롭게 하였고,13인의 여행꾼들은 여타 다른 여행사보다
차별성이 있어 좋았습니다.
교양과 격조는 기본이요,정해 진 시간에 훨씬 일찍 와서 공연히김 빠지게 한다든지,은근히 재촉하는 몰상식한 행동은 당연히
없었고,모두 들 여행박사라 알아서 착착 움직이니 노쇼핑,노옵션,노팁과 더불어 시간을
훨씬 절약하는데 일조를 하였습니다.

이방인들 눈에는 눈물이 날 정도로 가난해 보이지만,모두가 행복해 보이는 얼굴에서 착한 심성과 느긋한 slow 삶을 살며,카스트제도의 불합리함을 불평하지 않고 그저 주어진 삶에 순응하는
순박한 인디언을 보고 명상과 요가와 내 평생 사랑 비틀즈의 일원이었던
George Harrison이 심취했던 심오한 인도 철학과 이승의 삶이란 결국 전생의 업인
Karma를 갚으며 산다는 종교관을 엿 볼 수 있었습니다.

인도란 위험한 국가란 선입감은 그야말로 기우였고 그런 생각을 했던 내 자신에게 부끄럼마저 들었습니다.

모두가 핸드 메이드인 타고난 손재주와
중국과 이태리와 스페인 다음으로 많다는 유네스코 문화유산을 보고
켜켜이 쌓인 문화의 향취를 맡을 수 있었고
향신료와 아로마와 허브와 티 그리고
다민족,다인종,다언어,다종교가 조화롭게 사는 모습에서 인도의 다양함과 위대함과 미스터리도
함께 느끼고 보았습니다.

이번 여행은 추억을 소환하는 정겨운 여행이기도 햐였습니다.
조그만 시골 정거장을 방불케 하는 작은 비행장에서 걸어서 트렙까지 간다든지,
칙칙폭폭 타고 델리까지 간다든지,
다 낡아 빠진 폐차 직전의 세발 오토바이 락사와 코끼리와 찝차와 인력거등
적재적소의 탈 것 들을 타고 둘러 본다든지 하는 것들을 여기가 아니면
언제 해 볼 수 있겠습니까?

이 모든 것들이
너무나 반해서 2차,3차,4차 인도 여행도 꼭 해 보고 싶은 이유이기도 합니다.

역시 네팔,티벳,인도 여행의 메카 혜초여행사의 내공을 실감한
평생 잊지 못 할 여행이었습니다.
